Cable Switch Operators

Radius provides the NMS 100 range of motor operators to operate different manufacturers ground mounted cable switches, ringmain units, extensible switches and circuit breakers. Radius has pioneered this market and has been providing cable motor operators for nearly two decades. The NMS 100 is the latest in the range of such operators and is packed with over a decades worth of knowledge.

Background
Extended SCADA control, Distribution Automation or secondary network control, all require the need to remotely monitor and operate distribution switchgear over a wide area in a cost effective, safe and time efficient way. The NMS 100, which is part of the NetMan family of Distribution Automation products, allows a utility to achieve their quality of supply targets in the most cost effective way. Its compact design means it can be fitted in to even the smallest of locations.

Applications
The NMS 100 has been designed to operate a single or multiple number of switches/circuit breakers. Making it also ideally suited to extensible switch ways, ringmain units or small feeder stations. It is designed to work with the NetMan range of digital data radios or can be fitted with an OEM RTU and communications. It is designed for use with both new and retro-fit motor actuators and has been used extensively on the Schneider  Merlin Gerin Ringmaster range, Long & Crawford T4GF3 and J3/4 range, the GEC Alstom range, ABB range and Lucy switchgear.

Reliability
Radius believes the only time you should see our switch operators is when you install them. They are designed with a very long asset life and to that end, we employ only stainless steel for any external component, cabinets are vented and heater controls provide a controlled environment to ensure longevity of equipment and batteries.

Safety
Reliable operation is essential, so for all switch operators we provide sophisticated battery and motor management, so that when you need to remote operate the switch you can feel safe in the knowledge that the operator will work each time and every time. And if there is a fault our system monitoring will inform you via the SCADA remote control network.
