Distribution Automation

As customers and regulators demand anever increasing level of Quality of Supply, it has fallen to the Electricity Utilities to find ways of improving their levels of service whilst at the same time as reducing operating costs. One way of achieving this is to provide remote control to their Distribution Network, and in some cases provide automated responses to faults within their network. Radius provides a range of products in the NetMan family that allow customers to provide wide area remote control of their electricity network. Stand alone or as an extension to an existing SCADA network, the NetMan family offers remote control of both pole and ground mounted switchgear for overhead or cable networks. Radius offers gas and motor operators/actuators for air disconnectors/switches, remote control and motor operators for cable switches, circuit breakers and reclosers using wireless data radio technology. Furthermore Radius can provide transparent remote control of DNP3 switch controllers via a DNP3 enabled data radio modem. Automated logic is available to allow automatic disconnection of faulted networks.

Overhead Switch

Overhead Switch Motor Operators
Radius provides a range of different mechanical actuators/ motor operators to operate overhead air-break switch disconnectors and load break switches. Designed to work in demanding environments and provide safe and reliable operation, these actuators/ motor operators have been providing our customers with remote control of their distribution network for over a decade. The versatile design allows them to work with a large range of different manufacturers switches.

cable switch

Cable Switch Motor Operators
Radius provides remote control units and RTUs designed to operate single or multiple switches on cable networks. Sophisticated battery management, motor control and operator safety features make this range of products first choice for reliable and safe remote control of any ground switch, ringmain units or circuit breaker. The versatile design allows it to be used with a large range of switchgear from ABB to Schneider, Cooper to Lucy.

Scada Concentrator

SCADA Concentrator
If you have an existing SCADA remote control system, then Radius can extend the control of that system even to the remote parts of the distribution network. Any issue with protocols is handled by our data concentrators which provide a seamless extension of any existing SCADA network. Located at a suitable for data radio communication or sitting next to a SCADA RTU, these provide the powerful gateway to the remote sites.

Scada Uni-View power distribution

SCADA system - Uni-View
Radius provides a full-blown SCADA system for the power distribution area. With our Uni-View - SCADA system the user gets a remote control system that gives the possibility to get total control of their power distribution networks. Powerful features make the system fast and simple to configure with easy to use configuration tools.
