The following sequence shows a basic demonstration of Radius’ NMS 100 (however this can be applied to all NetMan switches) Hit & Run functionality. The film begins with the NMS 100 (which is attached to 3 ground mounted switches) cabinet being opened and then being switched from a remote to a local maneuver mode.
The film then pans out to where an authorized operator hits the activation and open button together to start the operational procedure to open one of the three, ground mounted switches attached to the NMS 100.
A beeping noise begins, this indicates that the Hit & Run function is in operation. (The timing sequence of the Hit & Run function can be altered from 0-30 seconds depending on the operators preference).
The Hit & Run function is a standard option in the NMS 100 and is provided as a safety mechanism for when a local maneuver is performed. The main function of this is so that an operator can move to a safe distance way from the ground mounted switch.
The sequence ends when the open button LED becomes constant and the ground mounted switch opens.
