PDR 121    Serial & Ethernet Wireless Modem

The Radius PDR 121 is an advanced digital data radio modem designed to offer wide area coverage for remote control telemetry and SCADA type network applications. The interface is via an RS232 port for data connection. The data radio can offer up to 19.2kbps on air data rate and is designed for both point-to- multipoint data telemetry networks and peer-to-peer networks in the VHF and UHF bands.

PDR

Communication Range
The PDR 121 Wireless Data Radio Modem is designed to give large area communication coverage. The PDR is used in systems were it is achieving distances of up to 50km at VHF and 30km at UHF, and because of its unique message routing, many of its networks are covering several 1,000km2.

Data Interface
The PDR supports two serial ports and one Ethernet port, allowing a variety of equipment to be connected to it. It is also possible to mix connections in the system, so that the Master site could run IP and the slave sites either IP or RS232.

Secure and Reliable
The PDR 121 data radio supports event triggered communication and has in-built collision management to maximize network throughput. The data radio can provide 128 bit encryption and provide FEC (Forward Error Correction) with inter-leaving that can recover even badly corrupted data messages. Receiver sensitivity is very high allowing exceptional recovery of signals.

Protocol Support
A list of available protocols such as DNP3, IEC870, MODBUS, Comli, Cooper 2179 etc are built in to the data radio menu, however if the protocol you need is not in the list, the menu allows you to configure the data radio to run the protocol you wish to use.

Radio Network Management
The PDR collects information about the Receiver Signal Strength, the Supply Voltage and the Temperature of each slave data radio modem and this can be displayed in real-time using the RND 100 software.
