Repeating Functionality

Each Radius data radio is equipped with the ability to pass any data message through any other data radio in order to reach its destination. This greatly increases the range of all Radius data radio network without any need for additional hardware or cost. Fixed routing information in the master data radio and the destination slave data radio control the flow of the data/telemetry message in the network, ensuring that the data message is only made available at the data port of the selected device. Routing tables are easily configured via a simple menu on the data radio. A data message can pass through up to 4 data radio devices in the Radius RNO data radio range of products or up to 6 data radios in the case of the PDR 121. When adding a new data radio to your network you need only enter the routing information in to the master and the new slave data radio, even if the data message is to pass through a number of other data radios.

For additional security it is possible to program a second or alternative routing path in to each data radio so that in the event of a failure in the main path a stand-by path is on hand. Coupled with the ability to duplicate data radios at each location with an automatic switch-over controller (the HSC 100) a wide area data radio network from Radius can be as secure as you require.
