Many Utilities companies have already in place a very comprehensive SCADA remote control system and Network Management System (NMS). These systems are normally built around the control and monitoring of their main primary substation/feeder stations and transmission network. Much of the equipment on the secondary distribution network is outside any form of remote monitoring or control. Bringing the secondary distribution network under the wing of the existing SCADA control is at the heart of what Radius provides. At key locations, Radius can allow strategic gateways into the existing SCADA network, by deployment of SCADA concentrators.
Radius NM-CCU is a network data concentrator that connetct Radius NetMan outstaions with any SCADA system. By monitoring the status data from and sending signals to outstations, the NM-CCU acts as a complete control and communications system for electricity distribution networks. With its intuitive HMI, the NM-CCU also can act as an independent data concentrator and/or a primary SCADA RTU.
